Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC)

We have experienced a higher-than-normal volume of dogs with moderate to severe respiratory signs. Many of these dogs are frequent visitors to boarding facilities or dog daycares. Please be aware and keep an eye out for coughing and nasal or eye discharge. We recommend keeping your pets up to date on their Bordetella, distemper, and canine influenza vaccines if your pets frequent boarding, grooming, daycare facilities, or dog parks.

If your dog is coughing or shows other upper respiratory signs please give us a call.

Here is some additional information from the AVMA on CIRDC.

The last 2 years have been like no other – full of challenges from the pandemic, and changes in the veterinary world. Demand for veterinary care is at an all-time high, with many families spending more time at home and providing extra care and love to their pets, as well as welcoming new pets into their lives. The veterinary staff has worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to provide essential care for pets, under abnormally stressful conditions and through continued supply and medication shortages, elective surgery bans, and previously unseen levels of compassion fatigue. Veterinary facilities nationwide are also experiencing severe staffing constraints as there are not enough Veterinarian and Veterinary Technician graduates to fill positions nationwide.

As always, Curbside Care is available to our clients based on their comfort. Please call us on arrival and let us know you’d like your pet’s visit to stay Curbside and we’ll be glad to assist.

If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19 or suspect you may have it, we request that a family member or friend bring your pet in for you. Please let our staff know so we can take additional safety measures.
Please call from the car and let us know when you arrive. We will get all the history and information over the phone, then come out and get your cat/dog from you and bring them into the clinic. We’ll do the exam, call you back to discuss treatment and diagnostics, and then move forward. We will bring your cat or dog back to you when they are done.
Please make sure cats are in a carrier and dogs are on a secure leash or harness.
Our house-call service will remain on hold.
Thank you for helping to keep our staff safe so we can continue to provide excellent care to your pets.

I truly loved this vets office! They partner with a Rescue, and have kitties that roam the front area and are up for adoption. They took great care of 2 strays that needed attention! Highly recommend!

Harmony Hill is amazing and takes fantastic care of our girls (dog and cat), and have a great relationship with local adoption community groups.
